Fishtourhub (“we,” “us”) operates a marketplace to discover, book, and join fishing charters and coastal tours across our Fishing Hub Network covering ALL hubs From VB to MB and beyond. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Fishtourhub you agree to this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

  • Account information you provide when you register: your name, email address, and phone number.
  • Booking and trip information: trip date, party size, hub and departure location, and the captain or listing you book.
  • Captain profile information: license number, license and insurance document uploads, boat details (name, type, capacity, port, length, restroom/AC), and payout details collected through our payment provider.
  • Community content you submit: catch-and-cook recipes, restaurant recommendations, photos, and advertisement submissions.
  • Payment information is handled by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Device and usage information: approximate location used to match you to nearby regional hubs, and standard analytics about how you use the app.

How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage your account and route you to the correct role (customer, captain, or administrator).
  • To process bookings, walk-on trip signups, deposits, balances, and captain payouts.
  • To send you booking confirmations, reminders, and service notifications by email or SMS (depending on your hub and contact preferences).
  • To verify captain credentials and approve listings, advertisements, and community submissions.
  • To maintain the security of the platform and prevent fraud or abuse.

Sharing and Third Parties

  • Stripe processes payments and, for captains, Stripe Connect payouts. Stripe receives the payment data it needs to complete these transactions.
  • Twilio may be used to deliver SMS notifications. Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier.
  • Google is used for optional Google sign-in and, where applicable, maps.
  • Captains see the customer name, party size, and contact details for trips assigned to or booked with them, so they can run the trip.
  • Approved gallery photos, recipes, and restaurant recommendations may be displayed publicly with your name as submitted.

Document Verification

  • Captain license and insurance documents are uploaded to private storage and reviewed by Fishtourhub administrators only for the purpose of verifying credentials.
  • These documents are not displayed publicly or shared with other users.

Your Choices and Rights

  • You may update your profile or close your account by contacting us.
  • You can request access to or deletion of the personal data we hold about you, subject to legal and booking-record retention requirements.
  • You may opt out of promotional messages; transactional messages (such as booking confirmations) are sent as needed to operate the service.

Data Retention and Security

  • We retain account and booking records for as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.
  • We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no system is perfectly secure.

Children’s Privacy

  • The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to This Policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “last updated” date above.
